Mindfulness in Nature

This is an adapted version of the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course. Most of the sessions will be held in an outdoor setting and will explore how to reduce stress and restore well-being through our connection with the natural world. Some of the themes will be similar to the MBSR course and some will be new. We will spend time each week walking gently and quietly through the woodlands and gardens of Plas Tan y Bwlch and sometimes sitting and simply taking in our surroundings. There will be an element of home practice and a coursebook and recordings of Mindfulness practices will be provided.

Plas Tan y Bwlch is the Snowdonia National Park Study Centre near Maentwrog. if coming from Penrhyndeudraeth on the A487 it is most easily accessed by turning left at the junction with the B4410 at the Oakeley Arms hotel. There is another left turn straight away up a small lane sign posted to Plas Tan y Bwlch. Car parking is adjacent to the centre.

The course will involve walking through woodland and over rough ground so suitable clothing and footwear is required. Please note that the room we probably will be allocated as a base will be up a flight of steps and unfortunately does not have disabled access.

The course will be led by Tara in conjunction with Actif Woods Gwynedd.

The sessions will be held from 6 - 8pm on the following Tuesday evenings:
8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th May and 12th and 26th June
