Annee has lived on Ynys Mon, Anglesey, for over forty years and has been teaching mindfulness for over twenty years. She has taught the eight week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) courses for most of that time within the Centre for Mindfulness, Research and Practice, (CMRP) Bangor University.
She has also taught on Teacher Training Retreats and on the Mindfulness-based Master’s degree in Bangor on the Foundation module. This module has a focus on personal practice which is her main area of interest. Her dissertation for her Master’s in Mindfulness Approaches explored practice after the 8 week course and she continues on this journey by teaching follow-up courses and leading practice retreats.
Annee has designed her own course named ‘staying mindful’ to encourage and inspire ongoing practice. She also works for Mindfulness Network CIC leading silent and staying mindful retreats and works with teachers of mindfulness to explore and supervise their teaching practice.
Most of Annee’s adult life she has practised mindfulness and Zen meditation. It has helped her cope with the demands and to enjoy to the full a large family which now includes four grandchildren. She has been practising mindfulness meditation since her twenties, when she travelled to India, Thailand and Japan to explore a range of Buddhist and advaitic practices.
She loves to walk in nature and enjoys walks by the sea and in the mountains. She also enjoys her beautiful garden.
