Sara has practised meditation and yoga consistently for the past 30 years. Her working life has largely centred around all areas of health, originally working within the Health Service and Social Services, then in the charitable sector, and latterly in social research.
Throughout this time she became increasingly interested in mental, emotional and spiritual health, as well as physical health. As a result she trained in Spiritual Counselling and as a Bowen Technique practitioner. She has continued to practise and explore ways to enhance overall health and wellbeing, working with individuals and groups, including in the field of addiction, culminating in training to teach Mindful Self-Compassion. She received her teacher training in Mindful Self-Compassion from Chris Germer and Kristen Neff , the founders of the programme.
