Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World

Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World

How to befriend yourself when life is stressful

 A 9 - week course
Tuesday Oct 5 2021 To Tues Nov 30 or Dec 7 2021
7.00 – 8.30pm

This is both for newcomers to mindfulness, and for those who have already tried the approach, or want a refresher with short practices.  This group-based online course can be a good introduction to mindfulness practice, attitudes and understandings if you want to dip a toe in.  If you have already done some mindfulness either by yourself or in a course, this can be a very useful refresher.  For everyone, ‘Finding Peace’ teaches you about how your mind works.  You will learn how to use practical, simple and powerful exercises to befriend yourself with kindness, to regain your pleasure in life, and to help yourself when your world is frantic and you get lost in stress, anxiety or low mood.

We ask you to commit to practising up to 30 minutes of mindfulness each day, using short guided audio meditation exercises.  It’s essential that you buy the book ‘Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World’ by Mark Williams and Danny Penman, which you’ll be reading each week. This includes a free CD of the practices, or you can download them.  Alternatively you can buy the eBook, or the Finding Peace app (you will be sent information on how to access these resources).

The course is for 9 weeks and you pay after the first session which orientates you to the course so you can decide whether you want to go ahead.  We will be meeting online for 90 minutes each week using the Zoom platform, which is very easy to access from a laptop or computer, a tablet, or even a Smartphone.  The group will be between 8 and16 people, including the teacher.  We can decide as a group whether to take a break over the half-term week (Oct 26).

The cost of the course is £180 if you’re in work, or £135 if not working and / or on a low income (if this is too much for your budget, get in touch and we’ll negotiate!).
